BNQ 21000

BNQ 21 000 is a pilot project initiated by the Bureau de Normalisation du Québec to implement a standard for sustainable development in the various industries of Quebec. Virginia Mines is the only mining exploration company that has been selected to participate in this project among the 17 companies of Quebec in the mining sector.

The integration of principles and issues of sustainable development in Virginia Mines’strategies and management methods should be completed by 2013. In that way, Virginia Mines ensures to remain at the forefront of sustainable development in the exploration industry socially, economically, and environmentally.

The project BNQ 21 000 is organized in seven steps that encourage the participation of various stakeholders. Here is an overview of the work to be directed by Virginia Mines to communicate and promote its commitment to sustainable development:
